dc.description.abstract The general objective of the study was to assess the knowledge, attitude and practice of AIMS by the students in Makerere University School of statistics and planning. The specific objectives included assessing the relationship between student's knowledge, practice and attitude towards AIMS. The study used primary data collected from students of school statistics after sampling of the study population. The study used a cross sectional study design with use of both qualitative and quantitative methods of data collection. Qualitative included review of published articles and unpublished article in order to gain more knowledge and extensive understanding of the study topic. Qualitative methods included field participation by the researcher from where data once collected at point in time. This data was management with the assistance of STATA software. The data was presented at two levels that is to say univariate analysis which included tables, graphs and charts and bivariate analysis which determined the association between the outcome variables and the selected independent variables by use of Pearson’s chi-square test. Results indicated majority of the respondents were knowledgeable about AIMS, had a positive attitude towards AIMS and very often used AIMS. Association was not statically significant with the selected background information of the respondents. en_US
