Abstract
Compliance of developments to the physical development is crucial to the success of any society.
For a community to feel the impact of planning, planners should implement plans efficiently.
The study aimed at comparing the level of compliance of land uses to the PDP (Soroti Eastern
division detailed plan 2016 – 2026) in Akisim and Kengere ward.
Chapter one looks at the historical background of Planning, PDP and compliance, the research
problem, objectives, scope and justification for the study.
Chapter two reviews various publications and literature on the level of compliance, concept of
development, reasons for non-compliance and implications of non-compliance of development
by various scholars and researches.
Chapter three presents a detailed description of the research methods used to achieve the
objectives of the study. It defines research design, sample design, sample size, sampling
procedure, choice of data sources and collection tools, data processing, analysis and presentation
as well as the limitations of the study.
Chapter four presents the research findings discussions, analysis and presentation.
Chapter five addresses research conclusion and recommendations.
