Abstract

The functions of elements and principle of art and design in flower arrangement along Garden city, Kampala, Uganda. The flower arrangement is an important part of the ambience in any occasion, wedding, birth parties or any other events in life.

Flower arrangement is an organization other of design and color towards creating an ambience flower, foliage and floral accessories using.

There are seven main principles of floral design that is to say proportion, scale, harmony, rhythm, balance, unity, and emphasis. When these basic flower arranging rules are understood and used correctly they can create gorgeous floral arrangement.

Design is a professional discipline of the visual arts; ranging from a variety of manmade objects and space. The concept extends to include large-scale environmental decisions like towns and cities. It's a process of ordering visual elements. To design may also mean to prepare the preliminary sketches or plans for a work to be executed, or to be conceived and develop such ideas in one's mind. In a wider sense, design is basic to all the arts as the structuring of elements into a consistent whole.

The elements of art and design in flower arrangements. When are going to make an arrangement many elements must be taken into consideration. I myself have worked in a flower shop and understand that an arrangement just can't be thrown together without considering principles and the elements of design must all be put into effective use. The five elements of design are line, color, form, space and texture. I will discuss each element and what the importance of each element is
