dc.description.abstract Urbanization is an inevitable global phenomenon and its impact on the urban landscape is becoming evident. This study focuses on Kololo, a dynamic urban area, and aims to identify regional urban differences and the resulting impact on green cover. The study used a variety of methods, including geographic information analysis (GIS), land use surveys, and qualitative interviews with city residents and city planners. Our results show that urbanization in Kololo has increased over the past decade. This density is mainly due to high-rise buildings, increasing population density and land use changes from green areas to commercial and residential areas. GIS analysis shows a decline in green space, particularly in parks and open spaces. The impact of these trends on the environment and quality of life in Kololo is worrying. Reducing green space affects the microclimate, air quality and overall survival of the surrounding area. Interviews with residents reveal growing concern about traffic congestion and a lack of leisure facilities. This study highlights the importance of sustainable urban planning and the need to balance it with the conservation of green spaces. It also shows potential strategies to reduce the negative effects of pollution, including vertical farming and urban populations. In conclusion, the analysis of urban densification patterns in Kololo shows that there is a need for strong and effective urban planning, important for green buildings and the health of the people therein. By understanding these trends and their implications, municipal policymakers and planners can make decisions to create a more harmonious and sustainable urban environment in Kololo and other similar cities. en_US
