dc.description.abstract From preliminary observations the extent of exploitation of architectural and historical monuments in the country’s film industry to harness a profuse range socio-cultural economic and developmental benefits seems to be grossly an insignificant level. Seems to be arising from ignorance about the potential and role, which architectural and historical monuments are bound to play in the country’s film industry; Furthermore, the problem also seems to be arising from prejudices against the holistic being of architectural and historical monuments due to absentee political will and preservation policy in favour of these structures and lack of a related legislation, planning and a conservation management regime for these very structures. By means of a qualitative research design in a case study of Kampala City, therefore, it is the intention of this research to explore how best this state of affairs can be altered so as to make the city’s architectural and historical monuments to bare greater impact on the local film industry of Uganda. en_US
