dc.description.abstract The aim of this study was to examine anurans in Lubigi swamp along the Northern Bypass in Kampala District. The study mainly intended to assess the species composition of frogs and toads, influence of habitat characteristics on the species composition and major drivers of extinction of frogs and toads with in the swamp. Frogs and toads were sampled within all the stations with pacing factors of 10(ten) meters. Twenty stations were selected and these were 20(twenty) meters away from the road and other twenty stations were selected with 40(forty) meters away from the road making a total of 40(forty) stations. at all the stations different aspects like vegetation, dominant activity and also the presence of frogs and toads all these were done at every station through the visual encounter method. Excel was used in data analysis and different tables were produced to give account for the results. The first table expressed the composition of frogs and toads within the different stations. At all stations different aspects like vegetation, dominant activity and also the presence of frogs and toads all these were done at every station through the visual encounter method. Excel was used in data analysis and different tables were produced to give account for the results. The first table expressed the composition of frogs and toads with in the different stations. The buffo species dominate all the species according to table 1 and upland frogs and backing tree frog were the fewest. Grasslands and sedges were the dominant habitats to harbor various kinds of frogs were the fewest. Grasslands and sedges were the dominant habitats to harbor various kinds of frogs and toads in Lubigi wetland. Key words: Wetland, continuous extinction, amphibians, Anurans (frogs and toads), stations. en_US
