The influence of textile and fabric decoration to contemporary painting in Kampala City

Abstract

This research report is about the influence of textile and fabric decoration to contemporary painting in Kampala city. The research is comprised of four chapters. The first chapter presents an introduction which describes the major topic of the study, the background that shows the history of the topic of study. It also shows the problem statement, objectives, significances and scopes of the study. The limitations of the study are also named in this very chapter to enable the reader know why some things are as they are in the study. The second chapter makes a presentation of the literature review; in this chapter you find all the necessary notes, citations in relation to the topic and different arguments between the researcher and the respondents of the research. The third chapter clearly states the methods and tools that will be employed for data collection for example the interview guides, questionnaire and observation checklist that will be finally assessed. The fourth chapter states the presentation and discussion of results of the research carried out on Buganda Road Art and Craft Centre in Kampala city to analyze the factors influencing the contemporary artists to use textile fabrics in their paintings, the content of art produced and history of the use of textile fabrics in contemporary painting.
