dc.description.abstract This study was aimed at investigating the factors that influence access to clean and safe drinking water by households in Uganda’s cattle corridor using Kyankwanzi sub-county in Kyankwanzi district as a case study. Simple random sampling was used to select 97 household heads randomly from Kyankwanzi sub-county from which data was collected by the use of questionnaires. Analysis was carried out using the STATA software at a 5% level of significance and the Pearson’s chi-square method found out that education level, occupation and distance to water source are significant factors in determining access to clean and safe drinking water whereas age, sex and household size were all insignificant factors in determining access to clean and safe drinking water. From the stated findings, the researcher recommends government to extend the distribution of piped water to cattle corridor districts or set up solar powered water facilities in order to improve access to clean and safe drinking water among individuals living the area. There is also need for the government and other stake holders to sensitize individuals in the cattle corridor area. en_US
