dc.description.abstract The objective of the study was to identify the factors that influence the adoption of e-learning among university students. The case study for this study was School of Statistics and Planning at Makerere University. Primary data was used for this study and it was collected using questionnaires from 126 students who were sampled from School of Statistics and Planning, Makerere University and analysis was done using frequency distribution tables, Pearson chisquare test for independence and logistic regression. Specifically, gender (sex), monthly income, and age of the student were the factors investigated in relation to adoption of E-learning among university students. From the results, over half of the respondents (51.59%) were male and (48.41%) were female. Findings from the bivariate analysis showed that age and monthly income of the student were all associated with adoption of E-learning (p<0.05). However, only age of the student was significant at multivariate level. Sex was found to be insignificant at both bivariate and multivariate level. The results from this study suggested that institutions of higher learning should emphasis more E-learning on students who are 20 years and above because as they get into upper academic years their monthly income increases which enables them to have more access to E-leaning gadgets and also some skills on how to conduct online lectures. en_US
