Abstract
This report assessed the use of film as a tool of evangelization in the Catholic Church in Uganda, specifically in the Kampala Archdiocese. The research used a mixed-methods case study design, coupled with interviews, questionnaires, and document analysis, to obtain the relevant data. The study's findings indicate that film is a potential medium for spreading the gospel in the Catholic Church if it is embraced and recognized. It was also found out that some of the challenges of using film as a tool of evangelization are that film is expensive, the church's negative mindset about film, and unprofessionalism, among others. Suggestions like sensitizing Christians to film and fundraising to support film can mitigate the challenges. The study will hopefully help the Catholic Church to embrace film as a potential medium of evangelization and appreciate the significance of film over other tools of evangelization, and the findings could also be used as a literature review by students doing related studies in the future.
