Abstract
The study investigated the relationship between Academic stress, depression and social support among adolescents. A quantitative approach was adopted in which only a quantitative data collection tool was used. Data was collected from 100 female adolescents using questionnaires. The data was analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics in terms of correlations. The results showed show that there was a relationship between academic stress and depression among adolescents,(r =-.118*, p =.038). Implying that adolescents with high levels of academic stress are more likely to manifest high levels of depression. The results also showed that there is a negative significant relationship between social support and depression among adolescents, (r.-121**, p = .002). Implying that adolescents with high levels of social support manifest low levels of depression the correlational results showed that there was a significant relationship between social support and academic stress (r =436**, p=.000)
