dc.description.abstract This study was conducted to assess food insecurity between fishing and non-fishing households amongst the people of Pakwach Town-council in Pakwach District. Data was collected through the use of questionnaires and Key informant interviews. The results of the study show that the households associated with fishing as an occupation were considerably more affected by food insecurity when compared to the households that focused on non-fishing activities. The consumption of foods such as vitamins and milk were dominant in non- fishing households with less fishing households consuming such foods. The people from fishing households resorted to missing some meals as a coping strategy due to limited access to food. Conclusively, food insecurity was found to be dominant amongst fishing households compared to non-fishing households. en_US
