| dc.description.abstract | This research addresses a pressing global humanitarian issue within the specific context of Uganda. With Uganda being one of the top refugee-hosting nations in the world, this study offers the potential to significantly improve the lives of the displaced populations seeking refuge within its borders. By employing advanced geospatial techniques, the research sought to enhance the efficiency of camp site selection, resulting in more strategic allocation of resources and services to refugees. This, in turn, reduces their suffering, ensures better living conditions, and contributes to their overall well-being. Moreover, the study has broader implications for humanitarian efforts worldwide. It sets an example of innovative technology application by showcasing the utility of geospatial tools like GIS and remote sensing in addressing complex humanitarian challenges. The research's emphasis on environmental sustainability, conflict prevention, and long-term socio-economic integration of refugees provides valuable insights for refugee management practices globally. By influencing policy and practice in the field of refugee management, this research has the potential to positively impact the lives of millions of displaced people and contribute to more effective and humane responses to future refugee crises beyond Uganda's borders. | en_US |
