dc.description.abstract According to (Scaffolding instruction learning education. boilersinfo.com, 2017), some of the terms were defined in relation to scaffolds: Scaffolding is a temporary structure used to support a work crew and materials to aid in the construction, maintenance and repair of buildings and all other man-made structures. Scaffolds are widely used on site to get access to heights and areas that would be otherwise hard to get to. Scaffolding process is defined as the planning for, the design of, the creation of, the inspection of, altering and the dismantling of any scaffolding. The Scaffolding process does not include the erection of structures constructed using scaffolding components such as false work, lighting towers etc. Unless taken with great care, scaffolding may turn to be unsafe. Unsafe scaffolding has the potential to result in death or serious injury (Jaishree, Construction, Construction Safety Management and Accident Control Measures). Falls from heights are the leading cause of death for construction workers (Center to Protect Workers' Rights, 2002); (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, 2000). en_US
