The findings of the study show that there is a significant relationship between parents’ financial status and the student’s academic performance. The findings of the study show that there is significant relationship between parents’ education background and the student’s academic performance. This implies that the education level of the parents does have a significant effect on student’s academic performance at university leaving other factors constant. This reveals that having educated parents increases the student’s chances of succeeding while at university than having uneducated parents.
