Abstract
Anxiety disorders among university students have become a pervasive concern in the contemporary educational landscape. This research dissertation delves into the intricate web of factors contributing to anxiety among university students, aiming to identify its causes, explore its impact on overall well-being, and propose effective coping strategies. The study adopts a comprehensive research methodology, including qualitative interviews, and in-depth literature review. Through these methods, the research investigates the multifaceted nature of anxiety, encompassing academic pressure, social stressors, financial constraints, and personal challenges. By understanding the root causes, this research offers valuable insights into the complex interplay of factors leading to anxiety disorders in the university setting. Furthermore, this dissertation explores the profound impact of anxiety on students' academic achievements, interpersonal relationships, and mental health. It analyzes the academic repercussions, such as decreased concentration, impaired memory, and diminished problemsolving abilities, shedding light on the detrimental effects of anxiety on learning outcomes. Additionally, the study investigates its social and emotional consequences. In response to these findings, the dissertation proposes a range of evidence-based coping strategies and support mechanisms. It evaluates the effectiveness of mindfulness practices, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and peer support programs in alleviating anxiety symptoms among university students. Furthermore, it emphasizes the importance of creating a supportive campus environment through awareness campaigns, counseling services, and academic reforms aimed at reducing unnecessary stressors. This research contributes significantly to the existing body of knowledge by providing a nuanced understanding of anxiety among university students. By identifying its causes, elucidating its impact, and suggesting practical coping strategies, this study offers valuable insights for educators, mental health professionals, and policymakers. Ultimately, it strives to pave the way for a more empathetic and supportive university environment, where students can thrive academically and emotionally, unburdened by the weight of anxiety.
