The analysis of the variability of rainfall and temperature over Kampala due to the motion of the Sun has long been a controversial topic hampered in part by lack of empirical evidence and the changing climate which impacts on several activities like agriculture. Thus , in this study we aimed at providing a baseline for use in future research and planning yearly activities espe- cially in the agriculture sector. To achieve this, six years from 2011 to 2016 were sampled and data for rainfall and temperature for these years obtained from Uganda National Meteorological Authority, climographs and analysis carried out. It was found out that the trend of rainfall and temperature is sometimes increasing and other times decreasing in that there was no year within which these two parameters had a uniform trend (increasing or decreasing throughout) though, this was visualized in speci c months (rainfall decreasing in January and July, temperature in- creasing in February and March throughout the six years). Rainfall and temperature variations in February, March, April, August, September, October (months when the Sun is around the the equator) proved di erent from what was predicted and the same was observed in wet and dry seasons thus, indicating variability. Since only six years were considered, one can try the analysis from 2017 to 2019. Other factors such as green house e ect, volcanic activity causing variability in rainfall and temperature can also be looked at.en_US
