dc.description.abstractThis project focuses on developing an embedded system that will aid households in Uganda to automatically turn on the lights when darkness is detected –in the late evenings and turn them off when daylight is detected early morning. The introduction section of the report gives the reader some insights about the typical happenings of how energy is used in our daily lives. The main objective and the specific objectives of our research project are highlighted in the next part and then the project scope, which mainly high- lights the functionalities and constraints of our project is discussed. In the first chapter, we finish with the project significance, which mainly covers the extent to which the developed system will affect the society for which it is developed. The next chapter, which is the literature review, discusses current systems being used, the different existing systems, and different methods used to implement them, and then analyzing these available systems, drawing conclusions, and using these conclusions to propose a system. The third section i.e. methodology discusses how the objectives of our research project were achieved. The preceding chapter explains the system analysis and design process we underwent to develop the system and then the system implementation comes next. We conclude this process with a conclusion section.en_US
