Stock management is the greatest aspect in a motor vehicle dealership supply chain, since it involves stock control of parts in the warehouse and processes associated with transactions, including shipping, receiving and picking ensuring all the needed stock for motor vehicle maintenance is made available. The significance and purpose of this project work is to generate a computerized parts management system for a continuous stocking cycle focused on inventory control of parts, ordering, tracking and costing analysis of parts consignments and parts warehousing operations in a motor vehicle dealership. And since these motor vehicle dealerships engage in selling off these parts or using them to carryout maintenance activities in their workshops and they never have to run out of parts stock. In that case designing of a parts logistics software is to limit any occurrences of stock replenishment ensuring accurate reorder level time lines and order quantities thus parts stock consignments are ordered and tracked on time leading to a close realization of Expected Time of Arrival (ETA) for the parts. From our point of view, ecommerce is the major factor in all business. And so these motor vehicle dealerships are mandated to source parts inventory from manufacturer plants, involving ordering and tracking of parts from overseas. And some challenges entail leading to uncertain lead times thereby making Expected Time of Arrival (ETA) of parts consignments to be unreliable and hard to estimate. Thus our design has solved all this problem that dealerships are facing. The study aimed at obtaining data from motor vehicle dealerships concerning the parameters used in the design of the logistics software. These parameters with formulae are to obtain exact values needed when software is in operation. These include demand of parts, classification, reorder levels and quantities, safety stock, purchase orders, expected quantity, analysis of the Landed Cost Factor etc. With this design the ordering, tracking and receiving of parts from manufacturers will be a smooth process with limited stock outs of parts and thus all the objectives of the design were successfully achieved. Therefore, with the main objective of the software being efficiency for stock management.en_US
