dc.description.abstractThis study aimed at determining the determinants of the demand for health insurance among women aged between 15 to 49 in Uganda. This study adopted a probit model to secondary data. The results reveal that wealth, higher level of education, and area of residence are significantly associated with demand for health insurance among women. Results reveal that health insurance is more pronounced among wealthier, educated and women who reside in urban areas. The study therefore recommends for the policies geared towards poverty reduction and investing in education since such variables were highly associated with demand for health insurance.en_US
