Recovery of waste heat from the fluidized bed dryer by recycling exhaust air in Granulation section at KPI (1996) limited
Abstract
An initial design of an exhaust heat recovery preheater was provided. The pre-heater was designed inform of a finned shell and tube heat exchanger. This report is based on the work undertaken to complete the gas to gas heat recovery system. The system was specifically designed for the dryer exhaust and therefore the exchanger geometry was designed to conform to the general design of the dryer. In the completion of the design, fouling was considered. The system was therefore designed with means of reducing fouling by directing the exhaust air to the tube side which can be easily cleaned and can be periodically replaced.
Water vapor was used to simulate the dryer exhaust gases while air was used to simulate the ambient air.
