Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) is a simple electronic device used to record votes in place of ballot papers and boxes which were used earlier in conventional voting system. It is a set of rules which define how the desire of people may be expressed and how results may be achieved from it. The proposed machine in this paper is faster, efficient and reliable then error free as compared to manual voting system which is slower, poses full day fatigue on people and chances of error are greater. Its main feature is its ease to operate. Voter polls a vote very easily and final results are displayed in no time by just pressing a result button, after the elections have been conducted. This report discusses an Electronic Voting Machine and its design. In this design, a keypad is introduced to start up the voting and clear a vote to storage after a voter has cast their vote. The push buttons are organized and clearly labelled for easy identification. Once an individual voter is cleared for voting, he/she is allowed to vote for their preferred candidate by pressing a given push button on the voting panel. The voter cannot vote again unless the vote is cleared and stored by the voting in-charge. The machine is designed carefully to suit elections at several occasions.en_US
