Improving clinker quality and reduce on snow ball formation through oxygen enrichment in the combustion air.
Abstract
Increase in oxygen amount by increasing fan speeds by 50 RPM increased the rate of combustion hence increasing flame temperature by over 1000C, increasing liter weight by 40g/l. The increases in both flame temperature and liter further become higher to about 2000C and 50g/l respectively if the amount of oxygen is increased by oxygen enrichment. There fore oxygen
enrichment reduces snow ball formation which is associated with flame temperature and increase the clinker quality which is associated with the liter weight. The amount of oxygen required for 5% enrichment was found to be 16kg of Oxygen per 100 kg of coal burnt.
