This report contains an overview on the optimization of the wet granulation process using various process parameters in order to minimize sticking during tablet compression. A computer optimization technique based on response surface technology was used. Process parameters such as impeller speed, amount of granulating liquid and wet massing time were used as independent variables and tap density plus loss on drying were used as response variables for the granulation process. Inlet air temperature, air flow rate and drying time were used as the process parameters for drying of the granules. Regression analysis was carried out to determine the regression model equations which can be used to predict the values of the response variables. The R squared values were used to determine the correlation between the independent variables and the response variables. It was observed that most of the variables were insignificant having significance, F values greater than α = 0.05.en_US
