The level of project performance is an indicator of project success. This study is intended to examine the impact of concrete reworks on overall project performance in terms of quality, costs and time schedule. The study consists of five sections which include, the background, the literature review of previous researchers on the subject, the methodology, the analysis and presentation of data and finally discussion of the findings, recommendations and conclusion. Chapter one has the background which consists of the origin of this topic. Reworks refer to the redo and recover process of making the constructed subject satisfy the original construction goal (Ashford, 1992). The construction industry faces several challenges for example delays in works schedules, wastage of materials, cost overruns leading to higher project costs, the problem statement, the main objective which is to determine the impact of concrete reworks on project performance, the specific objectives which include, to determine the impact of concrete reworks on project cost, to determine the impact of concrete reworks on project quality, to determine the impact of concrete reworks on project schedule, the geographical scope for which it is Kampala, the time scope which is 7 months, justification of the study, significance of the study and the research questions. Chapter two consists of the literature review; Raghram and Nagavinothini carried out a research in April, 2016 which revealed various factors causing rework with major impacts on cost and time overruns which included: Appearing cracks at corners of concrete elements, displacement of formwork at the time of placing concrete, bad appearance of concrete surface as a result of deformation of formworks, inaccurate fabrication of dimensioned concrete elements, leaking concrete from joints of formwork, forming cold joints due to mismanagement of concrete when delivering to the site, allocation of inappropriate concrete materials and demolition of some parts of concrete due to non- conformance to the specifications…………………. Chapter 3 consists of the methodology where descriptive research was used, the sample size used was 50 senior staff obtained using Krejcie and Morgan’s table, the primary data was obtained by first using questionnaires and later interviews to different classes of construction companies while secondary data was obtained by reviewing the literatures.en_US
