This project is about design of a conveyor for concrete on raised construction sites. As the rate of construction work in Uganda is gradually increasing. There is need to venture into affordable means as a way of moving construction materials. The project is centered on the use of locally available materials to come up with the conveyor. It is tailored to synchronize with the current economic status of the Ugandan citizens; in order to enhance adoption of automated ways of conveying material. The reason is because imported conveyors are extraordinarily expensive for most Ugandan citizens. Much of the work revolved around the use of engineering knowledge to select system parameters for the conveyor, concept generation and material selection. All these were based on a customer centered approach after carrying out a sample customer survey. A range of different methods have been used to determine the shape, parameters, specifications, size, materials to be used during the design process. The project was based on designing a belt conveyor system that conveys concrete as an output. Modelling of the different components of the bucket conveyor system have been done using 3D modelling soft wares based upon the dimensions obtained from the parametric deign and the assembly of the components is also included to clearly show the subassemblies of the conveyor system.
