    Abstract
    The use of rhetorical strategies in the effort to persuade the audience is of importance. In this study, the researcher has analyzed proverbs that H.E Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Kaguta Museveni used on different occasions to persuade his audience and drive his point home. Museveni’s ability to make allusions to proverbs in any given language paint different pictures for his audience. He employs humor, allusion and allegory among other styles
