The main objective of the study was to assess the causes of road traffic accidents among road users in Uganda and the study had furthermore specific objectives plus research hypothesis that helped to understand the research study.
Secondary data was collected from Wandegeya Police division headquarters and statistical abstracts from 2009 to 2017.univariate, bivariate and multivariate analysis were used to analyze the data
The results from the study show that accidents caused by careless driving are high on the highways and this has brought suffering and agony in many families. The study also shows that the highest cause of road accidents would be careless driving followed by reckless driving and the lowest cause would be obstacle on carriage way.
The study recommends that the police and government should put up measures to reduce on the highest causes of road accidents. The government through the Uganda National Roads Authority should improve on the roads by widening them, placing humps and traffic lights on busy roads so as to reduce on the various causes of road accidents like over speeding | en_US |
