A Research Report Submitted to the School of Language, Literature and Communication for the Partial Fulfillment for the Award of Bachelor of Arts with Educationen_US
This research was mainly carried out to investigate and show how imagery enhances meaning in Jopadhola songs a genre of oral literature. This intends to look at different kinds of songs sung during different occasions for different purposes for example, work songs (Mudole), war songs (Ju- pa Wangolo), and birth ritual songs among others. Songs are talked about in this research in general but specifically the Jopadhola songs and how imagery and some other figurative languages like symbolism, metaphors, similes among others help in enhancing meaning in the few selected songs From the research carried out, I found out that imagery, mainly visual imagery is greatly important in bringing out the messages that are embedded in the Jopadhola songs as we shall come across later in the research project data analysis.  en_US
