The early childhood period is crucial not only for individual health and physical development, but also for cognitive and social-emotional development. Events in the first few years of life are formative and play a vital role in building human capital. It has been estimated that more than 200 million children under the age of five do not reach their full potential in cognitive development. This phenomenon is largely due to mechanisms that can be influenced; such as poverty, poor nutrition, and suboptimal care in the home. The purpose of this study was analysis of the determinants of early childhood development in Uganda. Secondary data was used for this study. The data set was obtained from Uganda Bureau of statistics Website under Demographic Health Surveys (UDHS). The STATA version 15.0 was used to analyze the data. Multivariate analysis was done using the binary logistic regression since the dependent variable was categorical with only two outcomes (dichotomous/binary). The study revealed a positive and significant effect of education level of the parent (mother) on early childhood development for mother who had education up to secondary level or more than secondary. The model revealed that other variables like income level of household, asset level of household, residence region of the household and availability of primary schools in the community had no significant effect on early childhood development. There should be more programmes to help the girl child attain education since they are the future mothers and they have a great influence in determining child development. Investing and improving in education programmes will also help to reach education to the disadvantaged families to ensure there is education for all like UPE and USE and coming up with other programmes for university in order to accommodate even the disadvantaged studenten_US
