dc.description.abstract | Proper records management will promote efficient and effective organizational performance in ways such as regulatory compliance, minimizing litigation risks, making informed decisions, promoting accountability among others. The major aim of the project was to investigate the records retrieval system used at Kira Road Police Station in order to address the gap in the existing system and designan automated records retrieval system as a way to solve the challengesfacedduring management of records at the police station. The study used a case study approach and it was quantitative in nature and it used observation and interview as methods of collecting data. Interviews were the key data collection tools used but they were supplemented by observations. Some of the key findings of the study included; KRPS uses a manual system to access records and it is sometimes time costing. It is out of these findings that the study proposed new automated records retrieval system for records at Kira Road Police Station. | en_US |
