In this research I will tackle the use of songs in some of the selected folktales in Buganda among the central people of Uganda. In this research we will see how songs affect the understanding of a folktale. I carried out this research basing on the topic of how songs are used because in so many cases we neglect the impact of the songs and simply take it as form of entertainment yet there is so much we can know about the culture from which the song is told. Norms, morals, and values are portrayed through various folktales in the Baganda and songs help emphasise or condemn the right and wrong ways respectively. From this research one can easily relate the knowledge of other effects of songs in other cultures other than the Kiganda tradition.en_US
