dc.description.abstractThe purpose of the research report was to examine the relationship between motivation and employee performance at COBAMS, Makerere University as a case study. The research was guided by six research objectives and these were to assess strategies of motivation, to establish the indicators of employee performance and to assess the relationship between motivation and employee performance. The research used a cross sectional research design to obtain data, a population of 109 employees was used but a sample size of 60 employees was considered when collecting data, 2-point scale of measurement was used i.e. (1. Agree,2. Disagree), a structured standard questioner with closed questions was used to collect data, and data was analyzed using Microsoft word, Microsoft excel and SPSS. The data was presented and interpreted in a close tabular form and lastly the fisher‟s test chi- square test was used to draw conclusions on the significance of the relationship between the dependent (employee performance) and independent(motivation)variables. The research‟s main finding was that there is a significant relationship between motivational strategies and employee performance. And the major recommendation to the university is to allow its employees to associate in different offices to improve on their skills in different areas where necessary.en_US
