    Abstract
    This study is about symbolism in Luganda Proverbs, examining the language and analyzing the symbols. Symbolism requires assessing, translating and interpreting the meaning of a source language and expressing the same meaning faithfully . On the basis of a sample of Luganda proverbs to English. The sample of Luganda proverbs depict the culture, tradition, values of the Buganda society. This sample consists of the English tenses,vowels . The Luganda samples are written first, followed by the Translation in English then the symbols.
