The study aimed at identifying the factors associated with alcohol consumption among men in Western Uganda. Its specific objectives included establishing the association between economic factors and alcohol consumption, analyzing the association between demographic factors and alcohol consumption and describing the association between cultural factors and alcohol consumption among in Western Uganda. The study used secondary data which was collected by UBOS in 2016. This was obtained after seeking for permission from the DHS website. The study considered only men from Western Uganda as the study population. Analysis was done at three levels using STATA software. Univariate analysis included frequency distribution table, bivariate analysis included Pearson’s chi-square test and multivariate analysis included logistic regression reporting with odds ratio. The study findings indicated that, almost three quarters (73%) of the respondent from Western Uganda often consumed alcohol. The factors associated with this included marital status, education level and wealth index. However, marital status and education level were identified as the determinants of alcohol consumption among men in Western Uganda. Therefore, the researcher recommends institutions around the family should come together and support the victims of alcohol abuse through education and sensitization, moral support, provision of alternative engagement as a source of livelihood other than alcohol trade and revision of policies governing the licensing of alcoholic drinks.en_US
