There has been a rapid growth of RUSACCO over the last 10 years, both in members and the number of Rural Savings and Credit Cooperative Organizations. Recent studies show that the decision of a household to participate depends on the anticipated costs and benefits of participation. The main aim of the study was to investigate the factors that household participation in RUSACCOs. During the study, primary data was collected with the use of questionnaires that were answered or responded to by a sample of households within Kyotera sub-county which was then cleaned. This data was then analyzed using a STATA 15 to investigate the univariate features, bivariate and joint behavior of the different variables obtained from the data. Some of the findings from the study showed that gender, income, location of the RUSACCO or place of residence, age, education background, and kind of employment influenced the participation in RUSACCO activities among the people of Kyotera sub-county. The study also recommends that in order to accelerate RUSACCO participation in Kyotera sub-county and Uganda at large including increasing awareness among people of RUSACCO activities this should be done by the government plus RUSACCO management should promote transparency in all activities to attract more members among others.en_US
