The purpose of the study was to establish entry barriers into milk producing associations (cooperatives). A sample of 120 milk producers was selected to represent the entire population. The study was conducted in Lyantonde district using both quantities and qualitative methods and binary logistic regression was used to analyse data. The findings revel that milk producers that can easily access the cooperative have higher chances of joining the cooperative than those that are far away from the cooperative. The findings reveal that milk producers that can easily access information can easily join the cooperatives than those that cannot easily access information. Therefore the research recommends that the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry to sensitize farmers to get enough information about the cooperatives and to reduce on the entry barriers into milk cooperatives. The Research also recommends that the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry to extend cooperative society services so that farmers can easily access the cooperative society. This would enable farmers that are very far to access those services and end up joining the cooperative society.en_US
