dc.description.abstractThe research was conducted to assess the impact of quality management on construction projects in Uganda with the main objective of determining how quality management leads to the project’s success. Specific objectives included identifying the quality management systems used on construction projects during quality management, factors affecting quality management, importances of quality management and problems incurred during establishment of quality management. The problem statement was to understand the underlying failures behind contractors failing to produce quality projects. Also different literature has been written about and referenced. The results from respondents were analyzed using Microsoft excel and deductions as well as conclusions were made where by the findings showed that quality management systems as well as factors affecting quality management are very essential in quality management. Ninety three percent of the respondents supported the factors under quality planning as used in quality management and ninety one percent gave a positive response to quality assurance. Seventy nine percent of the results from respondents agreed with the factors under quality control. The importances for each of the factors under the quality management systems were also analysed based on the respondents’ opinions and showed that all the factors are important when it comes to producing a quality project. These factors included material testing, making organizational quality plans and receiving feedback among others and if considered, projects could always be delivered on time and within the budget thus a project can be deemed successful. Quality management leading to a projects’ success was based on the highest positive percentages obtained from the findings which were supporting the quality management systems as well as the factors under each. More so, it was based on the opinions from the respondents about the importances of quality management. Continuous motivation and training of employees, involving top management, adhering to quality standards and ensuring proper communication among others were highly emphasized to be used on construction projects in order to achieve quality projects.en_US
