    Abstract
Completion of a project within the stipulated time frame is considered to be one of the critical factors for project success. This is however impossible due to the delays that occur during the construction process. Delays can be brought about by a number of factors during the construction process. Because of this, delays in the construction industry continue to be one of its biggest challenges that overall affect the time performance. There are a number of causes of delays in the industry and a number of ways have been formulated to solve the delays depending on the cause but still the delays still continue to surface in the projects. Most of the delays may impact the time performance are construction based i.e. methods of construction that are being used in the industry. By finding other building alternatives, we study them to see if there use in the industry would affect the time performance of the projects. The purpose of this study was to assess the effect of using Modern Methods of Construction on the time performance of projects in Uganda. The study indicated that using Modern Methods of Construction would be a possible solution but a lot of the challenges that come with using it would become a hindrance to adopting it as a solution to mitigating delays. From the research carried out, it’s evident that some of the participants know the benefits of using Modern Methods of Construction but do not know how Modern Methods of Construction can exactly help mitigate delays hence improving the time performance on construction projects. Furthermore, the research also shows that despite Modern Methods of Construction having many benefits, people in the construction industry haven’t realized their full benefits.
