dc.description.abstract(Hulme,1970) says that electric current is the flow of electrons of an electric charge and is measured using an ammeter. Voltage is the force that pushes electrons throughout a circuit and is measured in volts by means of a voltmeter. In my own view, current is the movement of electrons from negative terminal to the positive terminal in an electrolyte. When two dis similar metals are inserted in a common conducting solution, electricity will be produced. (Luigi Galvani,1971) discovered electrical conductivity in nerves of a frog that he was dissecting. He thought that electricity was originally found in living things. A few years later, (Alessandra Volta,1800) discovered that electricity could be produced by organic means. In fact by using a small sheet of copper, zinc, and cloth spacers soaked in acid solution, he built the First apparatus capable of producing electricity. Electrical wires, multimeter zinc-coated galvanized nails are some of the components that facilitated my project study. (Naidu and Kamakshiah,1995) stresses that zinc and copper electrodes are reasonably safe and easy to obtain. Other metals like lead, iron and magnesium could be used but these yield different voltages other than that of zinc and copper. In my thesis, fruits provide electrolyte and a simple way to support electrodes. The acid involved in some fruit samples I used is called citric acid. To add I followed exactly what (Fieldkamp and Suzan,2002) did with the aim of identifying what kind of fruits yield highest voltages which indicates high levels of acidity so that I can recommend for public consumption.en_US
