In many developed and developing countries power systems plays important role in many industries and electrical networks. At the modern era because of demand of power, many people are using electricity in most of the equipments that use power. These equipments can include, televisions, refrigerators air conditioners and many other appliances. (Priyanka Madanno Patril et al., 2020). There is demand for power exceeding supply, and this gives rise to the voltage fluctuation in power supply thus affecting the power received by appliances in home and industrial sectors. This results into the overheating and damage of these appliances thus leading to the failure of their operation (Obeta et al., 2015). Voltage fluctuation also lead to electrical fires, where by many buildings have been destroyed by fire due to unstable power in most areas. Furthermore, wide voltage variation from the normal supply can affect certain equipments such as refrigerators, air conditioners, televisions and many others. The voltage can be low or high. for the case of low voltage this can cause the compressors of the refrigerator to develop fault and if not switched off could heat up and get burnt or damaged there and then, thus someone lose his or her appliance. (Ofor N.P and Ibrahim A .G, 2010).also over voltage can burn out many appliances due to insulations. If the voltage is too low, the amperage increases, which may result in the components melting down or causing the appliance to malfunction. If the voltage is too high, this will cause appliances to run too fast and too high which will shorten their service life.en_US
