dc.description.abstractThis study aims at assessing the effect of land use planning on housing development in Kampala, mugema village-kasubi parish as the case study. Its main objective is to assess the effect of land use planning on housing development in Kasubi Parish. The study employs a statistical data analysis and presentation model to analyse data collected. Sustainable land use planning is critical for steering new developments towards a sustainable society with housing development inclusive. The Land use planning is estimated as an ideal tool to allocate and reallocate land resources for development and sustainable development purposes. On a local scale, planning laws and other land-use regulations are commonly used to influence land-use, but their effectiveness is often unclear. The planning system has partly contributed to housing development in Kasubi. The purpose of this study is to examine planning factors affecting housing development in Kampala within the established institutional framework. The study encompasses nature of housing and level of implementation of land use regulations. Primary data were gathered through questionnaire surveys to housing developers and in-depth interviews with local authorities. The findings demonstrate the influence of land use planning on housing development.en_US
