dc.description.abstractThis project’s goal is to design and construct a fuel antitheft system that monitors fuel level in the tank and uses GSM technology to remotely send a control message to a fleet manager, supervisor or the owner of the equipment in which it is installed. The fuel antitheft system comprises an ultrasonic sensor, a microcontroller and GSM module, which work together in monitoring and controlling fuel level in a tank. The main goal of the project was attained through meeting the specific objectives of; determining system design specifications, collect data on fuel consumption for the system, designing and constructing the system circuit, writing the program code for the operating system of the circuit, and constructing and evaluating a prototype for the system. The project started with the study and research, with the information gathered from literature study, filtering customer needs and thus generating design concepts respectively. Most suitable and final design concepts was selected using a concept scoring matrix and the system prototype of the final detailed design was constructed to assess technical feasibilityen_US
