The past years, many things have changed in our cultural norms where people take traditional folk songs about marriage just for entertainment rather than acknowledging the importance and message that lies in the images used in the songs which are directly compared to marriage among the Baganda. The different phases in the songs show respect, beauty in marriage, honor and values of marriage in society among the Baganda. In the past years, Baganda people by then, knew the purpose of marriage songs which is not the case with today’s generation who just enjoy the songs for only entertainment and even call them boring because at times they are lengthy and do not look at the deeper meaning and importance of the songs. This is why it’s important to all people of this generation to learn more on the songs about marriage and also know the special painted images which advise people about the relevancy and values of marriage songs in the Buganda society.en_US
