dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this study was to find out the different perceptions of youth about COVID-19 vaccination in Kiswa Parish, Nakawa Division, Kampala District. With an aim of finding out their knowledge and attitude on COVID-19 and the vaccination process, their opinions regarding the vaccination process, the challenges faced by youth during the period of COVID-19 and during the course of vaccination and their recommendation on how these challenges could be resolved. The research employed a case study design and utilized qualitative approaches among the youth. Fifty people were purposively sampled and interviewed with the aid of an in-depth interview guide. The guide included domains like perceptions of youth regarding COVID-19, their knowledge and attitude on COVID-19 vaccination process, challenges faced by youth during COVID-19 and how these were resolved. Most respondents knew what COVID-19 meant. However, they had different perceptions regarding the vaccination process. Some had positive perceptions were some said vaccination would help to prevent one from acquiring the virus and others had negative perceptions were some said that the vaccine was not good for their bodies and they had little or no trust in the vaccination process. A number of challenges were registered from the different responses obtained such as long lines at the vaccination points. They explained how these challenges could be resolved such as putting in place more vaccination points.en_US
