    Abstract
    The purpose of the study was to develop a Library Acquisition Policy for Muntuyera High School- Kitunga Library. The study objectives were to; assess the acquisition procedure of library materials at Muntuyera High School-Kitunga Library, establish different frameworks for acquiring the library materials at Muntuyera High School-Kitunga Library. Determine the challenges faced by librarian at Muntuyera High School-Kitunga in acquiring the library materials, and develop a library acquisition policy for Muntuyera High School-Kitunga Library in order to Acquire Library Resources. The study majorly applied a case study research design and qualitative methods but some small quantities of survey were done. A sample of 54 respondents was used. The methods for the data collection were questionnaire, interview and documentary review. The study found out that MHS-K Library does not have a recognized acquisition procedure and therefore, the school is prompted to contact suppliers either by phone, E-mail, or written letters through the school massager for direct purchase, donations, and gifts. The study concluded that adoption of a library acquisition policy would help to provide reliable method in which materials are acquired into the library, it will further control other frameworks used hence easing the acquisition processes of materials in the library. The study recommended that the school management should adopt the proposed acquisition policy because of its faster and efficient acquisition process provision
