dc.description.abstractThe research on thematic concerns in Samia proverbs of Eastern Uganda was carried out based on two major objectives and its purpose was to find out the different Samia proverbs and the themes depicted in them. Three major themes were identified and these were; hard work, sharing and the benefit of listening to advise. The research was done in Busia district among the Samias of Masafu sub county and the major methods used by the researcher to collect data were interviews and participant observation. Through this, a lot of information was gathered concerning the value attached to different proverbs by the Samias of Eastern Uganda and a number of Samia proverbs was collected. Qualitative data analysis was carried out and the themes depicted in the given proverbs were identified as hard work, sharing and the benefit of listening to advise.en_US
