The Baganda are the largest ethnic group found in Buganda kingdom that is found in the central part of Uganda. They are Bantu speaking people with their language known as Luganda. Their origin is a mythical one, for; there are very many myths about their origin. One of the traditions about the Baganda origin suggests that the Baganda are descendants of Kintu who is believed to have come from heaven. Another theory asserts that Kintu came from the east, in the direction of Mt. Elgon and passed through Busoga on his way to Buganda.
