This study was aimed at studying the smoking behavior and factors associated with smoking among youth. The specific objectives included; to assess the relationship between socio demographic factors and the smoking behavior, to assess the relationship between physical factors and the smoking behavior, and to examine the relationship between behavioral factors and the smoking behavior. The case was students of School of Statistics and Planning. The study utilized primary data collected from students at SSP. Chi-square was used to test the hypotheses used in the study, and binary logistic regression model was used for the multivariate analysis of the factors. And according to this analysis, only behavioral factors were found to be significant predictors of the smoking behavior of the students at SSP. In conclusion, the binomial logistic regression analysis results based at 95% level of significance implied that behavioral factors such as the family smoking variable were found to be the significant predictors of smoking behavior among students at SSP. Hence more sensitization about dangers of tobacco use and cessation services needs to be brought closer to students.en_US
