dc.description.abstract | Electricity is a form of energy and takes the form of Hydro Electricity Power, solar energy, electricity generated from generators among others. It serves several purposes such as cooking, lighting, heating among others. Due to these importance’s, it is important to note that it significantly contributes to the growth and development of small scale businesses and its absence can retard business growth.
Thus this study seeks to find the role of electricity supply on small scale businesses in Uganda, a case study of Kawempe division.
Literature review was done to aid the researcher know what is missing and fill the missing gaps in the past studies.
In my research methodology, the key factors looked at include the alternative source of power and its cost, the number of working hours, daily revenue earned from the business etc.
The data type used in this research is primary data that was collected by use of questionnaires that were self-administered. This study revealed that there was a significant relationship between load shedding and the revenue earned by the business.
A recommendation based on the findings was given that the company in charge of supplying electricity (UMEME) should generate more power which is enough to supply all the businesses to ensure low cases of load shedding. | en_US |
